Our client, a company specialized in the design and manufacture of traffic management systems aimed at improving the fluidity, safety and efficiency of road traffic, is currently looking a Project engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Sales and Operations, your main mandate will be to coordinate projects, from sales to construction (75% municipal, federal and provincial projects and 25% B2B). You will use your technical expertise in the analysis of needs as well as in the follow-up and realization of the project. In addition, you will have to prepare quotes, follow up on calls for tenders, participate in the preparation of the worksite, and maintain a good relationship with the various contractors and bidders. Finally, you will be responsible for liaising between operations, clients and the various departments to coordinate the work efficiently and according to the client's requests. As such, you will :

  • Organize, plan, coordinate and follow up on sales requiring project management ;
  • Prepare quotes according to customer requests and needs ;
  • Coordinate the various activities of the sales department and contribute to the distribution of the workload according to the requests received in project management according to the directives of the immediate superior ;
  • Follow up on the different calls for tenders in progress or to come ;
  • Carry out information research and analysis of project needs with the collaboration of suppliers ;
  • Offer sporadic technical support in the evaluation of project needs ;
  • Liaise between clients and operations and follow up on appropriate information ;
  • Communicates on a regular basis and works closely with the Site Manager to meet client needs and schedules ;
  • Responsible for transmitting accurate and complete information to the administration and accounting department for billing purposes ;
  • Follow up on the transmission of information and work closely with the sales representative ;
  • Perform compliance certifications on job sites ;
  • Participate in forums, seminars and community events to represent the company ;
  • Participate in business development, sales strategy development and social media content development ;
  • Contribute to the planning of operations and special projects, in collaboration with and according to the directives of his/her superior ;
  • Participate in the update of the internal price list in relation to costs and participate in the negotiation with suppliers ;
  • Participate in the homologation of new products, as well as in the development of project follow-up ;
  • • Develop or participate in the development of operational tools to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction ;
  • Perform every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering ;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (or in the process of becoming one) ;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience ;
  • Experience in project management ;
  • Experience in the field of construction (civil or building) and/or road safety (an asset) ;
  • Mastery of the Office/Google suite ;
  • Maitrise du français et de l’anglais (écrit et parlé).
