Our client is a company with a solid reputation in the premium quality natural / organic food processing sector and the leader in its field in North America. They are currently looking for a Production Supervisor for their plant in the Bas-St-Laurent region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, your job will be to plan, organize, control, and direct all production-related activities in order to meet the plant's general operating goals.

  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.
  • Apply the collective agreement in a continual, efficient, and fair way; maintain good working relations;
  • Produce various production reports;
  • Ensure that production qualitative and quantitative production and maintenance goals are reached within established budgets;
  • Create and follow up on a performance plan; establish priorities with the production team in order to reach production goals;
  • Ensure that the company's various regulations are respected, as well as workplace health and safety (SST) regulations;
  • Set out and update performance indicators and share the results with your team and with management;
  • Work alongside the planner to make sure daily production planning is carried out;
  • Oversee continual improvement to production processes and methods;
  • Ensure that measures are taken to improve productivity and production efficiency; ensure that required practices and standards are applied;
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the production staff (325 employees, with the help of 6 foremen);

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering, business administration, etc.) or any other relevant education and training (college diploma, certificate, etc.);
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience in a manufacturing / food processing environment;
  • Fluent in French (spoken and written);
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is considered an asset;
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite;
  • Management experience in a unionized environment, as well as familiarity with continual improvement principles such as 5S, PVA, Kaizen, etc. are considered significant assets.
