Our client is a rapidly growing company, among the leaders in their field. They specialize in designing, manufacturing, and marketing top quality high voltage electrical components for the healthcare sector. They are currently looking for a tooling, process, and manufacturing project specialist.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the plant's engineering process supervisor, your job will be to design and modify various tools related to product manufacturing, to control manufacturing processes, to maintain the facilities, and to carry out various manufacturing projects.

  • Design and produce the tools (jigs, brackets, fastening systems, etc.) needed in order to manufacture products;
  • Develop manufacturing processes, document them, and follow up on them within the context of continual improvement;
  • Take part in DFM (Design For Manufacturing) to give feedback to the R&D team with a view to improving designs in terms of simplifying the manufacturing thereof, reducing lead times and minimizing production costs;
  • Be hands-on to optimize and standardize manufacturing methods;
  • Support production staff in all aspects of production;
  • Design the production layout to optimize productivity and efficiency;
  • Oversee the acquisition of equipment in keeping with changing requirements;
  • Help maintain equipment and facilities;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • College diploma in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering, vocational diploma in tooling techniques or other relevant studies and training;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (tooling, electronic manufacturing processes, or mechanical design);
  • Skilled with the Windows environment and lean manufacturing tools;
  • CAD software skills are an asset;
  • Functionally bilingual (spoken and written French and English);
  • Good teamwork skills.
