Structural Project Engineer

Our client, a consulting firm, solidly established in Quebec, with a recognized expertise in the specialties of mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, transportation, structural, sustainable development, environment, water treatment and energy, is currently seeking for a Structural Project Engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the company's management, your main mandate will be to manage various projects and participate in the design of projects (commercial, residential, institutional and industrial). As such you will :

• Represent the firm with the client and define the needs related to the projects ;
• Determine the concepts used in the realization of projects according to the client's requests ;
• Participate in the design of projects ;
• Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications ;
• Support technicians, draftsmen and junior and intermediate engineers ;
• Verify and coordinate the work in progress in collaboration with other parties (architectural, civil, electrical, etc.) ;
• Administer the project in collaboration with the administrative department ;
• Oversee the preparation of budget and time estimates, as well as plans and specifications reports ;
• Manage the technical staff on the project and participate in site meetings ;
• May be required to participate in the supervision of the work ;
• Perform all other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, specialization in building structure ;
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec ;
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience ;
• Experience in consulting engineering ;
• Good command of French, both oral and written ;
• Knowledge of ETABS, SAP and SAFE software.
