Structural design engineer

Our client, a consulting firm, solidly established in Quebec, with a recognized expertise in the specialties of mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, transportation, structural, sustainable development, environment, water treatment and energy, is currently seeking a structural design engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the company's management, your main mandate will be to carry out the design of various structures in addition to actively participating in projects for cities, municipalities and ministries. As such you will :

• Plan the allocation of team projects with the assistance of the Director ;
• Carry out the allocation of resources on a weekly basis ;
• Provide technical assistance to the entire team ;
• Approve time sheets ;
• Represent the firm with the client and define the needs of the projects ;
• Determine the concepts used in the realization of projects according to the client's requests ;
• Participate in the design of projects ;
• Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications ;
• Support technicians, draftsmen, junior and intermediate engineers ;
• Administer the project in collaboration with the administrative department ;
• Oversee the preparation of budget and time estimates, as well as plans and specifications reports ;
• Manage the technical staff attached to the project and participate in site meetings ;
• May be required to participate in the supervision of the work ;
• Perform any other duties consistent with your position.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other relevant training ;
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec ;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience ;
• Knowledge of ETABS, SAP and SAFE software ;
• Good command of French, both oral and written ;
• Ability to work in a team environment ;
• Ability to react well in stressful situations and to meet tight deadlines.
