Social Gaming User Interface Designer

Do you cringe at unintuitive menus and unresponsive controls? Do you have an eye for detail and polished experiences? Do you have strong, clear UI creation skills and a passion for gaming?

Then come help our client by advancing the art and design of their product’s user interaction. They need someone who can develop and create concepts and visual ideas for online and mobile products that will be used in social and mobile games. You must be well versed in layout, typography and UI design for web and mobile applications.

What you'll be doing:

• Actively conceptualize UI designs for all aspects of the game
• Work with the Art Director and UX Designer in defining and communicating the visual language and interface look and feel
• Translating gameplay high level ideas into visual functional UI designs
• Participate in visual comparisons and critiques
• Competently assist in design of UI flow and function
• Implement UI design assets in game
• Spec out art tasks and generates time estimates when needed
• Contribute to art and tool pipeline improvements

Requirements

As our ideal candidate:

• You have a college degree in Art, Anumation, Design (or related field) and at least 5 years’ experience as a UI Artist in a high-tech environment, including some experience in games
• You are an expert with Photoshop
• You have a thorough understanding of UI/UX flow and function design
• You challenge yourself to raise the bar on your own work and that of the company
• You have the ability to easily communicate ideas visually and in writing
• You have no trouble meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks
• You have strong French/English written and verbal communication skills
• You are experienced with Unity, Flash, After Effects and Illustrator (an asset)
