Our client is currently looking for a DB developer to join their great WSOP team! In this role, you will take part in developing, supporting and maintaining our Big Data Platform, Data Pipelines, Data Ingestion processes and Relational Databases.

As a database specialist, you will be in charge of:

  • Database Modeling and Design
  • Database and Query Performance
  • Database Maintenance and Support
  • Support Database users, promoting database best practices
  • Database Security
  • Data Quality

As a developer, you will be in charge of:

  • Developing and maintaining Database Applications and ETL Scripts
  • Support BI users promoting development best practices
  • Developing new Data Ingestion Pipelines

Requirements

Our ideal candidate has:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in Python Programming, SQL and Relational Databases
  • Good knowledge of data modeling and data structures
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Big Data
  • Experience with Cloudera Hadoop Distribution (CDH)
  • Experience with Apache Projects like Hadoop, Impala, Spark and Kafka
  • Experience as a Database Administrator (an asset)
  • Experience with Amazon AWS (an asset)
