Our client, a world leader in the development of optical solutions (AMLCDs, backlights, EMI filtering, etc.), working in the military and defense, aerospace, high-end medical and industrial markets is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Engineering manager, you will be responsible for all development projects for displays with embedded electronics for aerospace and military applications. As such, you will :

  • Participate in the definition of product strategy during the business development phase ;
  • Establish schedules and development plans required to achieve objectives ;
  • Lead the mechanical, electrical, software, optical and technical engineers associated with the projects and ensure that deliverables are on time and within specifications ;
  • Coordinate and represent the company in technical reviews ;
  • Coordinate material planning activities for prototype unit manufacturing and qualification ;
  • Maintain internal and external action and review lists ;
  • Present project status, schedule, budget, risk to management team ;
  • Participate in the maintenance and modification of the various processes related to configuration and engineering activities as well as the physical infrastructure related to engineering activities ;
  • Support the recruitment and management of engineering personnel ;
  • Perform all other duties related to this position as required.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other relevant experience ;
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in product architecture definition, development of electronic circuits for high reliability applications preferably for avionics or military applications ;
  • Experience in firmware and software development, experience with DO-254 and DO-178 standards (an asset) ;
  • Experience in printed circuit board design ;
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both written and spoken ;
  • Must have a valid passport and be available for occasional travel to the US.
