Our client is a sizeable company specializing in the processing and production of materials (derived from naturally occurring stone). They are currently looking for a reliability specialist for their plant located in the Montérégie region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor, your job will be to work in close cooperation with the maintenance service in order to ensure that equipment availability is maximized. In addition, you will make sure that you produce measurable productivity results in terms of safety, environment, quality, and finances through the effective and efficient implementation of reliability focused on assets.

  • Actively participate in the work of a management team in order to ensure that the highest standards are met and maintained with regards to safety, environment, quality, and efficiency as we strive to become a world-class company;
  • Form working groups and coordinate their activities to develop and implement technical services with regards to reliability and maintenance on the plant’s equipment;
  • Examine and analyze data related to the frequency of repairs;
  • Identify and analyze root causes of equipment failure;
  • Supervise and improve the plant’s preventative and predictive maintenance program;
  • Coordinate with production operations to identify and eliminate problems;
  • Monitor production losses and asset losses that result in abnormally high maintenance costs, and then find ways to reduce these increased costs, ensuring that ongoing, sustainable improvements are made;
  • Provide and coordinate technical support for maintenance supervision with regards to major reliability problems;
  • Work closely with the members of the plant’s maintenance team, getting them on board and committed to carrying out the points described above;
  • Be on call in rotation with the other members of the management team in order to deal with plant emergencies;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, college diploma in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, vocational diploma in industrial mechanics or automated system electromechanicals, or other equivalent education and training;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector;
  • Recognized experience clearly demonstrating safety as a value and a priority;
  • Experience with analysis of root causes and with preventative and predictive maintenance;
  • Bilingualism in spoken and written English and French is an asset;
  • Well-acquainted with Word, Excel, and computerized maintenance management systems;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
