Our client is a Québec company specializing in the development, manufacture, and marketing of custom equipment for such widely varied applications as energy efficiency management and automation / protection of electrical power grids. They mainly serve industrial and commercial clients and public utilities. Our client is currently looking for a product manager (protection of electrical power grids) for its new range of innovative power grid solutions.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the account manager, your job will primarily consist of positioning the technological development of the new range of protector relay products for electrical power grids and taking part in the marketing and sales of said products.

  • Coordinate efforts to provide a technological orientation for the company's protection solutions;
  • Take part in the adaptation of the existing protection product based on client needs and specifications;
  • Work alongside others on the implementation of marketing strategies for the company's solutions;
  • Take part in various presentations / trade shows to promote products;
  • Train clients;
  • Monitor product development;
  • Help prepare bids and draw up contracts;
  • Help draw up test protocols required by clients;
  • Provide technical support for projects being carried out, including all phases of clients' projects;
  • Work alongside other parties within the company to respond to requests for information from both current and potential clients;
  • Carry out a technology watch in order to stay on top of new market trends and companies' needs;
  • Take part in various meetings relating to your work and inform management of developments in your work;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or any other relevant education and training;
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience;
  • Highly knowledgeable of the energy protection field;
  • Bilingual (French and English);
  • Available to travel frequently within the province and outside Québec;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities and timeframes;
  • Sales experience or business development experience in the energy sector and experience carrying out protection studies on electrical substations are considered assets.
