Mechanical Designer

At Aesus we design, fabricate, assemble, test and install packaging machinery (labelers, fillers, cappers, conveyors, turntables, etc.) for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food and beverage industries to name a few.  The company brings together a dynamic team of 100 employees and is located in Pointe-Claire (Montreal).

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer.

MAIN OBJECTIVE:

Give support to the Senior Designer, manage and participate in standard projects, provide technical support to sales and purchases, production support and start up, ensure that the designs are consistent with recognized technical standards and according to the customer needs.

MAIN DUTIES:

• Analyze, design and develop manufacturing drawings from data provided by the Engineering Manager and / or the Senior Designer.
• Participate in the development process of new products.
• Participate in the resolution of technical problems.
• Propose technically and economically viable.
• Make a list of necessary materials for the launch of current projects.
• Act as a reference in the technical interpretation of the quotes from technical representatives and production.
• Participate in the process of solicitations.
• Provide technical support to the production department.
• Provide support to the Purchasing Department / Service / Spare parts.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

PROFILE A :  Mechanical Design Technician with 5-7 years of experience;

or

PROFILE B :  Mechanical Engineer in design with 3 years of experience;

• Know and have mastered design software (AutoCAD & Inventor)
• Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing processes
• Able to create pneumatic diagrams and calculate its realization
• Strong ability in problem solving
• Be able to work in teams
• Being innovative
• Have an eye for detail
• High speed learning
• Have good knowledge of mechanics
• Ability to do strength calculations

WORK CONDITIONS :

• Permanent position;
• Full time (40h/week). The candidate must have an open willingness to do overtime as needed;
