Our client, a manufacturing company firmly established, specialized in the manufacture and the distribution of products, indented for the residential construction / renovation sector, and selling his products in Canada, United states and overseas, is currently looking for its factory located in the Montreal area, a maintenance planner.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the maintenance director, you will have as main mandate to participate at the preparation and the development of a preventive maintenance system, based from the expertise of the maintenance team and at middle term, to participate in a preventive maintenance system implantation. As such, you will :

  • Elaborate a preventive maintenance system (equipment and building) based on the maintenance team expertise ;
  • Analyse the technical needs for each equipment ;
  • Generate, maintain and analyse the maintenance schedule according to the different inputs (capacity, production planning, engineering change, new products introduction) and the purchasing department, maintenance, and production ;
  • Define the parts list required as curative ;
  • Ensure to provide the mechanical components necessary to the maintenance by drafting the requisitions, to perform the follow up from suppliers ( best quality / price choice) and the purchasing departement ;
  • Participate at the parts inventory management choice (store or distributor) ;
  • Update the data base to follow the evolution of the maintenance activities (inventory, maintenance library, electric and mechanical plan) ;
  • Act as a resource person towards other departments for the scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance to be performed ;
  • Participate at the maintenance module implementation / improvement (GMAO) ;
  • Implement lockout procedures for the maintenance department ;
  • Prepare work permissions for the subcontractors and / or the alarm system derivations ;
  • Create and follow the department work orders. Prepare documents and required parts for the interventions ( equipment files, intervention sheets) ;
  • Perform every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • DEC in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or any other relevant training ;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment ;
  • Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite tools, including an advanced knowledge of the Excel software ;
  • Functional bilingualism written and spoken in French and english ;
  • Knowledge of the failure mode analysis and their critical effects (PFMEA), the measurement and testing system analysis is considered as an asset ;
  • Knowledge of the continuous improvement principles such as Kaizen, Kanban, SMED etc. will be considered as an asset.
