Our client is an industry leader in Canada’s agri-food industry, with a number of processing plants in various Canadian provinces. They are currently looking for an electrical mechanic for one of their plants.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator, your job will be to contribute to the preventative and corrective maintenance of the equipment and the building, to respond to service calls, and to act as a resource for the production departments. As well, you may need to work in collaboration with others on advancing various technical and continual improvement projects.

  • Carry out the preventative and corrective maintenance program;
  • Perform troubleshooting on the production lines;
  • Carry out ongoing work to upgrade the facilities;
  • Supervise the production team at certain moments;
  • Perform welding and repair work on machinery when necessary;
  • Carry out minor repairs and renovations on the building as needed;
  • Assist the maintenance supervisor in various projects upon request;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • Vocational diploma in automated system electromechanics, college diploma in industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, or other relevant education;
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience with programming automatons and with welding;
  • Basic knowledge of computers and the Windows operating system;
  • An electrical journeyman's certificate (Licence C) is considered a significant asset;
  • Available to work rotating shifts.
