Our client, an important public institution, whose mission is to solicit and host conferences, meetings and other events, is currently looking for a Deputy Director, project management.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the property management director, you will have as main mandate to ensure the management of all asset maintenance projects, leasehold improvements and all other development work. As such, you will :

  • Plan, organize and coordinate with designated stakeholders, activities related to asset maintenance, rental improvement and development work projects;
  • Develop action plans for the implementation of projects and ensure follow-up;
  • Have the various studies and appraisals carried out regarding the maintenance of buildings such as building condition report, inspection of facades, inspection of parking lots ;
  • Make sure you understand customer needs ;
  • Deploy tools and procedures for monitoring project management and implementation activities, schedules, budget monitoring, content;
  • Ensure that projects are on time, on quality, on budget and that the necessary resources are well planned. Be responsible for deliverables ;
  • Evaluate project requests and carry out technical / budgetary analysis and follow-up of implementation ;
  • Have the work plans and specifications drawn up ;
  • Participate in the drafting of calls for tenders to retain the services of professionals ;
  • Participate in the drafting and check the construction tender documents ;
  • Monitor professional fees according to the scope of contracts ;
  • Participate in the development of measures for the mobilization of construction sites ;
  • Recommend the award of contracts as appropriate. Obtain the necessary authorizations ;
  • Plan projects on a long-term horizon in collaboration with internal clients, available budgets and priorities ;
  • Plan and have basic work carried out in the shopping mall or other rental space ;
  • Ensure the sharing of information between the various internal and external stakeholders of the projects ;
  • Assiduously monitor project budget, cash flow and invoicing ;
  • Ensure compliance with the health, safety and environmental aspects of projects ;
  • Ensure that sustainable development clauses are incorporated into projects in line with the strategic orientations of the organization ;
  • Manage actions related to organizational signage ;

Required qualification

  • Bachelor in engineering, architecture or any other relevant training ;
  • Minimum 7 years of pertinent experience in en planning and management of a set of projects ;
  • Member of "l’ordre des ingénieurs du Québec " or "l’ordre des architectes du Québec" ;
  • Excellent knowledges of French and English spoken and written ;
  • Knowledges of Autocad software and other DAT softwares ;
  • Knowledges of Microsoft Office Suite ;
  • Excellent abilities to work in a stressfull environment ;
  • Be client and customer oriented, demonstrate an ability to negociate ;
  • Strong sense of organization and priorities managements ;
  • Knowledges of the institution public rules (an asset) ;
  • Experience in supervision and team coordination in a unionized environment (an asset).
