Our client is a well-established, quickly expanding company that operates internationally in the bottling, food, and packaging industry. They specialize in the design, manufacture, and installation of conveyor systems, and the distribution and integration of packaging equipment. The company is currently looking for a conveyor and packaging systems specialist for their facilities in the Montérégie area.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the head of engineering, your job will be to support the sales team by analyzing clients' needs and specifications in order to propose solutions and equipment in line with the proposals and with the client's expectations.

  • Review and examine client specifications and work with management and the sales team and/or clients;
  • Analyze specific applications for equipment in order to determine the best equipment to propose;
  • Help design equipment and/or the layout of the production line;
  • Prepare the configuration of equipment based on standard list prices;
  • Get technical assessments for items not included in the standard list prices;
  • Get quotes from various suppliers if necessary;
  • Be familiar with the full list of prices and current specifications, limits, and characteristics of equipment;
  • Support and update equipment specifications;
  • Ensure that projects are transferred to engineering and the production department, including all necessary documentation;
  • Evaluate integration at the production line using cost models and layout plans;
  • Review client orders as compared to the bid and bring up differences in order to analyze them and make corrections;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • College diploma in mechanical engineering or other relevant education;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Significant experience working with conveyors and packaging systems;
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite and with AutoCAD;
  • Able to work with a multitude of in-house and external resources;
  • Excellent communication skills.
