Our client, a large-scale company specializing in rolling and casting metal products, is currently looking for an assistant supervisor - maintenance (instrumentation and control).

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor, your job will be to install, build, modify, adjust, maintain, and repair all sorts of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and combustion devices, as well as planning certain work projects and supervising staff.

  • Receive instructions and acquire diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications needed for repair or other work to be done;
  • Analyze all sorts of circuits, diagrams, and technical drawings relating to the installation, adjustment, calibration, construction, modification, maintenance, and troubleshooting for various types of devices and systems;
  • Plan out details of the work process to determine the appropriate materials, replacement needs, and logical approach in order to identify and correct problems, while minimizing interference with production operations;
  • Produce sketches of parts and paths; transmit information regarding modifications or additions;
  • Plan and carry out tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and combustion concepts. You must also know codes for wiring specifications, properties of various materials, principles for the operation of the application of the equipment, etc;
  • Inspect, assemble, clean, adjust, calibrate, lubricate, repair, or replace parts and wiring systems for various types of devices or systems;
  • Work in the workshop and in the factory;
  • Maintain a file on the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Help maintain the parts inventory;
  • Respect safety measures related to the work you carry out. Keep your working environment, tools, and related equipment clean, in good condition, and safe to use.

Required qualification

  • College diploma in industrial electronics, industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, or other relevant education and training;
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience as maintenance technician, electrician and others;
  • An electrical journeyman's certificate (Licence C) is considered a significant asset;
  • Well acquainted with programmable automatons;
  • Experience reading blueprints;
  • Available to work rotating shifts.
