Quality Assurance Specialist

Main functions of the position of Quality Assurance Specialist:

  • Serve as a resource person for the lifecycle management of quality assurance documentation (quality manual, procedures, work instructions, forms, specifications, etc.).
  • Oversee and ensure compliance of follow-up documents for special projects

Additional Features:

  • Assist as needed, especially with the entry of supplier documentation (MTR/CoC) and perform regular quality assessments on all incoming supplier/subcontractor materials and outbound shipments.
  • Read part drawings and specifications to understand product and service requirements.
  • Measure the dimensions of in-process and finished products, examine their functionality, and compare the final product to specifications.
  • Reject all products and materials that do not meet quality expectations.
  • Document the results of non-conforming inspections by completing detailed reports and performance records (PCRs).
  • Inform and follow up with the production team regarding quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
  • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Act as a control during hydrostatic tests performed by assemblers.
  • Ensure that all required quality documentation related to the tasks is completed.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with the company's quality assurance procedures and training program.
  • Perform any required inspections as directed by the company's quality assurance program.
  • Transmit process information to relevant departments in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Production Supervisor.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in a quality assurance position.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail.

Formation:

  • High School Diploma (preferred)
  • AEC in Quality Assurance
  • DEP in Machining or metrology course (asset)

Education:

  • High School Diploma (preferred)
  • Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in Quality Assurance (an asset)
  • Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Machining or training in metrology (an asset)
