Our Client, a leader in devices' and parts' manufacturing in the Aerospace Industry is hiring a Quality Engineer (reporting to the Quality Manager) to  be Responsible of fulfilling the role of Quality expert; this is a hands-on position. To ensure that the quality of the parts produced meet all customer expectations; quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design;
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes;
  • Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques;
  • Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues;
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources;
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts;
  • Utilize measurement system knowledge to assure the existence of proper inspection and gaging equipment;
  • Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Review and analyze results. Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness;
  • Act as change agent in according to engineering and production requirements;
  • Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action;
  • Must be able to take decision, communicate effectively and work with others;
  • Must be a team player, self-starter, problem solver and adaptable;
  • Highly integrated in shop process improvement activities;
  • Data driven decision maker;
  • Perform Statistical calculations;
  • Main agent in the control of product, process, materials and subcontractor control;
  •  Utilize continuous improvement tools as required;

Required Qualifications:

  • Holding a degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality in a CNC manufacturing and machining environment;
  • Expert in use of statistical tools;
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is a desirable asset;
  • Experience in CNC precision manufacturing , tight tolerance machining and GD&T;
  • Materials knowledge;
  • Experience and knowledge in Six Sigma; lean methods and Kaizen;
  • Knowledge of the AS9100 standards;
  • Bilingual (French / English).

Work Location: Grand Montreal area.

Salary: According to experience + (Plus annual Bonus).

Starts with a 3 weeks vacation/year (2 weeks annual vacation and 1 week vacation during holidays).
