Our client is a company in developing and commercializing many private brand food products. Our client is seeking a candidate for a Quality Assurance & Regulatory Specialist at Nuns’ Island.

Tasks for the Quality Assurance component:

  • Ensure the high quality of the products.
  • Help maintain the information on the quality certification (GFSI-HACCP-ACIA) of the factories.
  • Handle the customers’ and factories’ complaints.
  • Inspect the factories if the situation requires it.
  • Use your expertise and support the partnering factories.
  • Ensure that the customers’ requirements are being respected.
  • Guarantee food safety, allergens and traceability standards.
  • Support the other relevant departments.
  • Oversee the conformity of the clients’ and factories’ technical documentation.
  • Act as a resource person for controls, procedures, products and quality systems for internal services, partners (factories) and clients.
  • Follow-up on situations of non-conform products (recalls, corrective measures) with the factories.
  • Consider improving the process.

Tasks for the regulatory affairs component

  • Follow-up on cases involving regulation aspects with ACIA, Health Canada, Food and Drugs Regulations.
  • Follow-up on cases involving regulation aspects on certified non OGM projects.
  • Follow-up on cases involving regulation aspects with factories on the organic product certification (QAI).
  • Follow-up on cases involving regulation aspects with the FDA, USDA/FSIS, FDA/ FSMA/ FSVP.
  • Oversee that the factories respect the kosher certification (MK).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in food science and technology or the equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Experience in regulatory affairs in the food industry.
  • Extensive knowledge in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge in the MS Office environment.
  • Knowledge in the Canadian and American food regulations – an asset.

Salary: Starting at 80 000$ per year, based on experience.

Schedule: Day / 40 hrs per week.
