Intelligence Operators collect information from a variety of sources to support the operations, planning and decision-making of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Government of Canada.

Their main responsibilities are:

  • Collect, process, analyze and disseminate intelligence;
  • Identify and analyze information from multiple sources likely to affect military operations, as well as national policies and objectives;
  • Provide advice and assistance in coordinating intelligence tools and surveillance systems;
  • Prepares intelligence briefings and documents for commanders and their staff;
  • Use, manage and protect information technology systems;
  • Process and protect highly classified material.

Intelligence specialists primarily perform their work in an office environment on bases and wings across Canada, but they may also work aboard ships at sea or in domestic and international operations taking place in a variety of climates and conditions. . . As they progress in their careers, intelligence specialists may be offered overseas assignments.
