Import manager

Under the supervision of the V.P. Sourcing, the Import Manager will have to supervise the import team and be the link for the vendor partners, Business unit managers, quality control, graphic and logistic departments.

Task Description

• Supervise import team project developments and costing
• Assist in price negotiation with vendors
• Communicate with CRO team on projects/orders
• Working with Unit Managers on new products
• Ensure proper follow through on approval of new products with Licensors.
• Guidance to import team on problem solving from sample development to shipment of order
• Resolve issues between vendor partner, unit manager, import team
• Work with Quality control team to qualify products
• Work with graphic team for hang tags & collaterals
• Work with logistic team to ensure delivery from overseas will meet our required delivery dates to customers
• Negotiate debit memo when required
• Travel overseas with members of senior management
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge and skills required

• Baccalaureate in commerce and/or international business;
• 3 years of experience in staff management
• 3 years of experience in Import manager with successful experience with offshore/china manufacturing
• Excellent verbal & written communication skill
• Proficiency in the Office suite (outlook, Excel, Word)
• Ability to work multiple files and / or projects simultaneously
• Ability to concisely and effectively to transmit message in a timely manner
• Bilingual (Fluency in written & spoken Chinese (Mandarin) required)
• Good problem solving skill
