Our client, a fast-growing company, is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual to join their team as a Cost Accountant.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Cost Accountant will prepare financial statements, reconcile bank and investment accounts, and manage cash flow. The incumbent will also analyze financial data, ensure monitoring of the company’s assets, and act as a main contributor to ensure the company’s financial viability. More specifically, the Cost Accountant will:

• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Review and document all inventory processes involving reception of goods, tagging, replenishment, valuation, and month-end counts
• Communicate regularly with Head Office
• Complete month-end accounting activities, as assigned
• Perform various analyses to assist in improving financial results
• Report on sales, gross profit margins, and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
• Perform other related duties, as required

Requirements

• University degree in Accounting or Administration
• Chartered Professional Accounting title (CPA), an asset
• Five (5) years’ experience in accounting
• Bilingual (French and English), essential
• Strong financial analytical skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to manage accounting systems

Work conditions

• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
