Our client is a world leader with a reputation for excellence with their high-performance products, specializing in the manufacture of a wide range of paper products and absorbent products. They are currently looking for an automation and control engineer for their plant in the Outaouais region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Director, your job will mainly consist of providing technical support to the maintenance team in order to maximize the reliability of equipment and the manufacturing efficiency of the plant, as well as being responsible for preparing, planning, organizing, and following up on investment projects relating to new equipment or modifications to existing equipment.

  • Be responsible for preparing, improving, and following up on preventative and predictive maintenance programs in order to provide equipment reliability at a competitive price;
  • Work alongside the various other parties at the plant to develop solutions or preliminary concepts for problems or opportunities in order to increase the reliability and efficiency of production lines;
  • Take part in budget preparation;
  • Carry out detail engineering on projects assigned to you;
  • Follow up on and update technical drawings and documentation;
  • Identify and recommend replacement parts to keep in supply;
  • Work with others on the implementation and application of engineering procedures;
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance and operations teams;
  • Actively contribute to the technical training of electrical mechanics;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automated production engineering, or other relevant education;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of industrial systems such as: Motor, Drive, ControlLogix PLC, RS-View Operator Terminals, electrical room, etc.;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Good command of spoken and written French and English.
