Technical Adviser, Sales Support (Engineered Wood)
Our client is a sizeable company specializing in the sale, distribution, and manufacture of timber and timber products is currently looking for a technical adviser, sales support for their division specializing in the manufacture of engineered wood for a highly varied clientele (residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, or recreational).
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the product manager, your job will be to work together with the engineering and customer service departments as well as technical sales representatives of this division to provide technical support related to the sale of engineered wood products.
- Provide technical support to the sales team;
- Prepare bids;
- Perform calculations of structural elements (joists, beams, columns, lintels, half-timbering, joist hangers, etc.);
- Produce shop drawings (assembly plans);
- Represent the organization at trade fairs;
- Provide recommendations to clients in a proactive way with regards to their needs;
- Carry out any other task related to your duties.
Required qualification
- College diploma in architecture, civil engineering, or any other relevant education and training;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
- Highly fluent in spoken and written English;
- Knowledgeable of construction techniques;
- Well-acquainted with the MS Office suite;
- Proficiency with design software related to engineered wood, such as EZCAD, Woodi, or Forte, is considered an asset.
