Methods, Process, and Project Engineer

Our client is a sizeable company specializing in the sale, distribution, and manufacture of timber and timber products, with plants in Canada, the United States, and England. They are currently looking for a methods, process, and project engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the company’s CEO, your job will be to identify and carry out improvement projects in order to enable the plant to meet productivity, quality, and cost goals. Moreover, you will make sure that operations are running at optimal efficiency in keeping with various approaches to ongoing improvement, as well as managing certain investment projects relating to equipment.

• Carry out any other task related to your duties.
• Manage projects relating to new equipment and modifications to existing equipment;
• Supervise the quality program and the quality technician;
• Supervise the work of subcontractors working on projects related to equipment improvements;
• Evaluate relocation and expansion options for our operations and recommend the best solutions;
• Develop your expertise and ensure that industry best practices are adopted;
• Justify the economic value of development projects;
• Optimize equipment and operational processes;
• Evaluate the performance and productivity of operations;
• Identify and develop projects aimed at improving productivity, both for distribution and for manufacturing;
• Serve as a technical advisor for the company's full range of operations;

Required qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
• A good amount of experience with ongoing improvement processes and problem solving;
• Very fluent in spoken and written English;
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
• Available to travel internationally on occasion.
