Our client in Montreal would like to hire a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. Reporting to the director, you will have to ensure the maintenance of the equipment in order to guarantee their availability and optimal use.

The maintenance supervisor is in charge of managing and supervising 12 union mechanics/electromechanics working the day, evening and night shifts.

This person will also play an important role in issuing activities related to production equipment reliability by following up on corrective and preventive work orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly contribute to issuing good industrial maintenance practices.
  • Ensure that the industrial health and safety related to the food industry are respected and implemented.
  • Manage, supervise and coach union mechanics/electromechanics.
  • Help make sure that the production equipment is reliable and improve the preventive and corrective maintenance program.
  • Oversee the continuous improvement of the equipment in a lean manufacturing way;
  • Manage and respect maintenance budgets.
  • Manage some projects related to the building, sanitation, health and safety.
  • Being available to offer support in terms of communication when it comes to 24/7 emergency. 
  • Carry out any other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of college Studies (DCS or DVS) in mechanical maintenance, electrotechnics or in a similar field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in staff management in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent French writing and oral communication, and very good English writing and oral communication.
  • Certified as a professional in maintenance management (an asset).
  • Basic knowledge in automation, electricity, mechanical components and other procedure related to industrial maintenance.
  • Knowledge in computers and MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge in the Oracle and Maximo integrated management systems (an asset).
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices and continuous improvement (lean manufacturing).

Salary: 55 000$ to 70 000$ per year

Schedule: Day / 6 AM to 3 PM / Tuesday to Saturday
