Computer Technician #425

Urgent! Contract position in the federal government in the South shore to fill!

Our client is a federal government ministry looking for a computer technician to fill a temporary position for about 3 months. You will have to replace part of the installed computers, while providing expertise, support, the necessary technical and computer infrastructures to the 700 users to help them to achieve their mission.

You will have to:

• Answer telephone calls;
• Log and document the client’s problem or incident in the system;
• Assign the ticket to the appropriate technician;
• Contact a technician to attempt to solve urgent problems;
• Resolve technical problems by telephone or with a remote control tools;
• Take part in identifying problems and finding solutions;
• Document new solutions in the appropriate location in the system;
• Update the warehouse inventory in the Excel file;
• Manage the material in the warehouse;
• Update access and profiles in Active Directory.
• Use SCCM for deployment.
• Unravel you positions and install them;
• Configure the Windows and Linux partitions;
• Make a backup copy of the user’s profile and the data;
• Take note of the peripherals that need to be reinstalled and confirm their compatibility with the version of Windows installed on the position;
• Install applications based on the provided procedure;
• Solve technical installation problems and confirm with the user that the installation works;
• Give the work order to the deployment manager;
• Help the deployment-migration coordinator;
• Carry out any other tasks required for the position.

The ideal candidate and requirements:

• Diploma in computer science;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the fields;
• Experience using the SCCM tool;
• Experience installing, setting-up and testing scientific software (ex.: AutoCAD, MathLab, Solid Edge or any other aided design or modeling software);
• Experience working on computers with hard disk encryption software (BitLocker, SecureDoc, etc.);
• Experience in support in an environment with web control components like proxy servers, firewall and security control for Internet access;
• Work experience in a company that uses a ticketing system (Remedy, Magic, Axios or other);
• Work experience in a call center offering customer service support in computer.
• Good experience with Windows;
• Bilingualism;
• Verify the security rating.

Salary: 16.44$ per hour

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week / 7.5h a day / starts as soon as possible and ends February 2 2018.
