Our client located in the Boisbriand / Saint-Eustache area of Montreal is currently recruiting for a Bilingual Food Plant Director.

The Plant Manager provides overall direction for the facility in the areas of safety / quality / service and overall plant efficiency.

  • Coordinate and direct plant operations in the achievement of production needs, budget, and quality + safety objectives.
  • Coordinate production activities
  • Ensure accurate, timely, & efficient operation of shipping/cooler.
  • Coordinate with transportation, sales, and others as needed to meet needs of customer orders.
  • Responsible for the development of budgets & cost controls.
  • Managing all plant resources to optimize profitability to meet or exceed internal & external customer expectations.
  • Facilitate the development of strategies and corrective actions to resolve quality issues as necessary.
  • Insure compliance with company policies and all government regulations.
  • Must insure full compliance with all quality assurance standards and compliance of SQF standards.
  • Insure full compliance with company dress code policy, good hygiene, and housekeeping practices.
  • Insure compliance and enforcement of all work rules and regulations to plant operations and all applicable employees.
  • Communicate with supervisors, managers and Human Resource Department on needs of the facility.
  • Foster active participation of the workforce to enhance awareness and cooperation.
  • Provide for the personal and professional growth of subordinates through coaching, feedback and opportunity. Develop the skills and capabilities of both salaried and hourly team members.
  • Ensure that the quality of products produced at the facility is consistent with intended design and desired image.
  • Monitor and work with production procurement to assure quality standards are met and production shortages are avoided.
  • Insure that all team members work in a safe, efficient, productive & cooperative manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree + minimum of 3-5 years experience managing or supervising people in a food manufacturing/production environment or 5+ years of Plant Manager experience.
  • Five year of increasing responsibility in a food or beverage manufacturing and packaging environment with a high number of SKU's requiring frequent changeovers.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Supervision, coaching, managing processes, process improvement, tracking budget expenses, production planning controls and instrumentation, strategic planning, dealing with complexity, financial 
  • Fully Bilingual (Italian is an asset)
