Our client is an organization that has the mandate of planning, operating, and promoting public transit services in order to improve efficiency for transit users in metropolitan Montréal. They are currently looking for an analyst – asset maintenance (infrastructure).

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Head of Infrastructure, working within the purview of the Vice President of Operations, your job will be to implement a system of asset maintenance and to manage said system for the organization’s range of infrastructures (buildings, parking lots, transit lanes, etc.).

  • Support the formalization of the evaluation and asset inspection methodology (index of infrastructure condition or of dilapidation, weighting of maintenance priorities, inspection calendar), working with infrastructure technicians and specialists;
  • Optimize methods to guarantee the accuracy of inspection results and of data quality;
  • Work as a liaison with SAP and analyze changes over time with this tool and optimal integration with the asset maintenance of rolling stock and other departments;
  • Validate the full range of data from infrastructure condition inspection reports;
  • Estimate amounts for maintenance work on various types of infrastructure, for the maintenance deficit, and for replacement, and update these amounts;
  • Administer and update information related to assets and all parameters of managing the database (inventory, costs, deterioration, and lifespan, among others);
  • Update and improve the framework for asset management and the Annual Plan for Investment Management in keeping with the asset management policy that has been adopted;
  • Extract data from the database to generate reports, indicators, and trend charts based on various business needs;
  • Analyze the extracted data in order to detail the ways things are currently done, propose technical and financial improvement positions, working with technical infrastructure experts;
  • Support the infrastructure team in establishing tasks and master plans for maintenance and the associated cost projections;
  • Contract and supervise, if needed, the work of contracted resources or external suppliers;
  • Specify, evaluate, and implement business solutions for the automation of data extraction, the generation of reports, and performance indicators;
  • Prepare status reports on the implementation of the asset management system;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or any other relevant education and training;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience with estimating costs and/or managing construction projects, with building maintenance, asset management (buildings, rail transport infrastructure), etc.;
  • Functionally bilingual (spoken and written French and English);
  • Experience using data base tools and software packages such as SAP.
